Question 1

Do I need to know what I want to talk about before I come?

Accepted Answer

No. You don’t need a problem to solve, a goal to work on, or a topic prepared ahead of time. The Life Map gives our conversation its shape. I’ll guide us across the different parts of your life, and you can say whatever is true for you right now: a lot, a little, or simply, “I’m good here.” You cannot prepare for NOTICE the wrong way.

Question 2

Will we go through every part of my life?

Accepted Answer

Yes, lightly. We’ll look across all eight areas of the Life Map, but this isn’t an assessment and we’re not searching for something wrong. Some areas may give you plenty to say. Others may be a quick, “Honestly, I’m good here.” That is a complete answer. Nothing has to be found. Once we’ve looked around, I’ll reflect back what I heard in your words. Then you decide whether there’s anything you’d like to spend a little more time with.

Question 3

What if nothing is wrong with my life?

Accepted Answer

Perfectly fine. NOTICE isn’t built on the assumption that something must be wrong. You can love your life and still want a little room to look at it. You may notice things you’re deeply content with. You may hear yourself say something you hadn’t given much attention to before. You may simply enjoy having uninterrupted space to think and talk about your own life for once. Curiosity is enough reason to come.

Question 4

Is this coaching or therapy?

Accepted Answer

No. NOTICE isn’t therapy, and it isn’t a coaching session where I’m going to identify your problem, give you advice, or create an action plan. My job is to hold the structure, listen carefully, and help you stay with what you choose to look at. I won’t decide what your words mean for you or what you should do with them. NOTICE gives you room to see what is there.

Question 5

Couldn't I just journal about this or talk to a friend?

Accepted Answer

You absolutely can. NOTICE isn’t meant to replace either one. The difference is that during NOTICE, you don’t have to manage the process while you’re inside it. You don’t have to come up with the next journal prompt, remember what you said twenty minutes ago, keep the conversation on track, wonder whether you've talked too long, or make room for the other person's experience. I hold the structure. You get to look. And afterward, your Faithful Reflection gives you your own words to come back to.

Question 6

What is the Faithful Reflection?

Accepted Answer

After our conversation, I prepare your Faithful Reflection myself. I go back through what you said, gather it around what you talked about in your own words, and check it against what you actually said. It isn’t my interpretation of you. It isn’t a diagnosis, summary of what I think is happening, or list of things you should do next. It keeps what you said just as you said it, including the “maybe,” the “I’m not sure,” and the thoughts you were still finding words for. It’s yours to come back to whenever you like.

Question 7

What am I paying for?

Accepted Answer

NOTICE has three parts: the Life Map, your private guided conversation, and your personal Faithful Reflection. But what you’re really paying for is the experience of not having to hold the process while you’re trying to hear yourself. I hold the structure. I guide us across the Life Map. I listen and keep track of what you say. I reflect your words back without deciding what they mean. If there’s something you want to spend more time with, I help you stay with it without taking the conversation away from you. Then I prepare your Faithful Reflection so you have a record of what you actually said.

Question 8

What if I finish NOTICE and still don't know what I want to do?

Accepted Answer

Nothing has gone wrong. NOTICE does not require you to leave with a decision, an action plan, or a big realization. You may leave having noticed something you want to think about again. You may leave appreciating parts of your life you rarely stop to see. You may have more questions. You may simply hear something in your own words differently because you finally had room to stay with it. NOTICE is a place to look. What you do with what you notice remains yours.
